USI Baltimore
Since 2012, USI has been working on the ground with families and children in Baltimore, supporting over 500 families residing in various neighborhoods throughout the city, including Perkins Square, Harwood, Barclay, Midway, and Greenmount West. USI supported a 169% increase in wages since 2018/2019 by working deeply and directly with families to address barriers to education and employment goals. Our work resulted in over $22.7 ($22,752,744) million in wage income pouring back into the Baltimore economy, through our Perkins Homes work alone.

OUR WORK
Perkins Square
In 2017, Urban Strategies Inc. was chosen as the lead organization to provide comprehensive family support to the families of Perkins Square via Choice Neighborhoods, largely funded by a Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grant program. There are approximately just under (450) households that are enrolled and receiving services.
To ensure all families obtain equitable outcomes, USI Baltimore collaborates with over 50 high impact community partners to address self-reported barriers. In doing so, it is our hope to change the trajectory of many lives that ultimately result in overall positive outcomes.

OUR WORK
GLOW
USI was engaged by Central Baltimore Partnership in 2022 to provide wrap around supportive services to 120 single adult head of household families with children in four predominately black Central Baltimore communities, Harwood, Barclay, Midway, and Greenmount West., as part of a larger Greenmount Life Opportunity Wellness (GLOW) initiative with place-based community partners and community development organizations.
Approximately 1,204 households within these communities have an income below $25,000, and 374 of those households are reportedly living in poverty.

OUR WORK
ENOUGH
ENOUGH is an initiative to establish an Advisory Board consisting of cross-sector partners to develop collaborative strategies aimed at helping children living in poverty within the Perkins Somerset Oldtown geographical footprint thrive. By leveraging local resources and strengthening partnerships, the Board will build on existing community efforts to create sustainable, impactful solutions.
The purpose of this is to reduce childhood poverty and ensure children in our community have the resources, opportunities, and support needed to thrive. By working together, we maximize impact and create sustainable solutions that strengthen our community.
